CAGAYAN de Oro City–The presentation of candidates for the search of persons to be appointed as Officers-in-Charge (OIC) in the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will start on Monday, September 12.
Secretary Jessie M. Robredo of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) these appointments include those of the Offices of the Regional Governor, Regional Vice Governor and members of the Regional Legislative Assembly.
Robredo said the screening committee to do the search has been created by virtue of Presidential Executive Order No. 51, series of 2011, which aims to screen and recommend to the President, persons who will be appointed to such positions.
The DILG Secretary also said the committee has already embarked on its search for the persons most appropriate to head the ARMM offices.
“To ensure the smooth, orderly and equitable implementation of its mandate to recommend the most suitable persons for the above-mentioned positions, the Committee has already formulated the guidelines for the search,” he said.
Meanwhile, DILG has scheduled a series of public fora to strengthen information dissemination on the matter.
These events would require nominees to enunciate their respective plans, programs and positions on various issues affecting the ARMM.
It would also allow the people in the region to have a glimpse of the character, perspective, as well, as the priorities of the candidates.
Thus, the presentation of these candidates have been scheduled by DILG in the following areas:
Sept. 12 – for the 1st and 2nd Districts of Lanao del Sur to be held in Marawi State University (MSU), Marawi City.
For the 1st and 2nd Districts of Maguindanao to be held at Shariff Kabunsuan Complex, Cotabato City and the 1st and 2nd Districts of Sulu to be held in Patikul, Sulu.
For Tawi-tawi Province at the Jaafar Convention Hall, MSU Campus in Bongao, Tawi-tawi and Basilan Province at the Basilan State College, Isabela City.
Sept. 13 – for the Cotabato Media at the Office of the Regional Governor (ORG) Complex, Cotabato City.
Sept. 15, for the Zamboanga Media at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Zamboanga City. (PIA-10)
