TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, June 22 — The provincial government here has lined up events from June 22 until July 4, for the 53rd Araw ng Lanao del Norte week-long celebration.

The activities shall kick-off with a three-day International Motocross and Freestyle Competitions today at the Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) motocross racetrack, with riders coming from the American Motocross Association (AMA), along with the Philippines’ acclaimed international riders, and several local showbiz motocross enthusiasts.

Other activities for the day include holding of Provincial Volunteer Health Workers Congress at the MCC gymnasium.

A concert by one of the country’s biggest rock icon, Bamboo, will be held at the MCC gym on June 23.

There will also be a one-town-one-product fair and diskwentro caravan on June 27. On the same day, a legislators’ congress will be held at the colossal MCC gym.

Other highlights: On June 28: tree planting at Barangay Bulod, Tubod; and presentation of 2012 Miss Lanao del Norte candidates, Kolambugan wharf.

June 20: Youth Day, Cheer Dance, Hip-hop, and Dance Sport competitions.

June 30: Sports Day, “Blood Bank Fun Run,” jointly organized by the provincial government and the Philippine Red Cross-Lanao del Norte Chapter; Governor Dimaporo Invitational Shoot Fest; and “Battle of the Bands” at the Agora site.

July 2: Parade of festivals in the morning followed by the showdown of festivals and the Sagayan (war dance); photo and painting competitions with the theme “Nagkahi-usang Katawhan, Mauswagong Katilingban (United People, Progressive Society);” and crowning of 2012 Miss Lanao del Norte to be hosted TV personalities Solenn Heusaff and Jim Paredes.

July 4, will be the convergence of civil society organization, LGUs, mass feeding for children and adults; Public Employment Service Office special recruitment activity; micro, small, and medium enterprise caravan at the MCC function hall; musical fireworks display at 9:00 pm; and concert of 6 CycleMind and Callalily at the MCC Gym.
