Dillera said for General Santos City, GSC’s tourism students are helping oversee the facility as part of their field exposure, based on a memorandum of agreement forged by the DOT-12 and the school administration.
“All passengers that alight from each plane at the Gen. Santos City Airport shall be treated as very important guest by this service desk,” Dillera said.
The desk can also provide tourists with vital information on the eco-tourism sites of Central Mindanao, as part of the government’s effort to showcase the region’s tranquility and investment potentials.
General Santos has been an emerging main gateway to Central Mindanao taking over the feat from Cotabato City which is expected to form part of the expanded autonomous region with the establishment of Bangsamoro regional government.
“We seek the help of the general public in promoting tourism for this will redound to economic development,” she said. (PNA)
