Dads give go signal to 3 brgys to implement budgets

THREE MORE barangays may now fully implement their respective infrastructure projects and programs for this year.
This, after the City Council during its regular session on Monday presided over by City Vice Mayor Caesar E. Acenas passed separate resolutions returning to Barangays Iponan, Besigan and Barangay No. 38 their respective ordinances covering their 2015 annual budgets for implementation.
Barangay Iponan under Punong Barangay Rudy Guligado projected an income of P12,078,247.  Of the amount, P2,147,189 is allotted for its infrastructure projects which include, among others, the construction of the barangay mini market, Senior Citizen’s building, and rehabilitation of its barangay hall, health center and day care centers.
The barangay will also rehabilitate its barangay roads and install more street lights. Livelihood projects for its Barangay Women Development Council (BWDC) and farmer’s associations will also be funded.
Moreover, the barangay will also extend P10,000 each for the improvement of the buildings  of the Iponan National High School, Iponan Elementary School, Bulao Elementary School and for the senior citizens chapter buildings at Iponan, Kisanlu and Bulao.
For its youth programs, the barangays set aside its 10% fund in the amount of P1.2million.  Out of the amount, the barangay will soon construct a Barangay Youth Office and extend financial assistance for cultural and sport activities while P603,262 is reserved as the calamity fund of  Iponan.
On the other hand, Barangay Besigan will have an annual budget of P1.6 million. The barangay set aside P290,919 for the rehabilitation of its water system, barangays roads and for its livelihood project under KALIPI.
Barangay No. 38 under Punong Barangay Eddie Estoque will set aside P149,049 from its P1,534,153 budget for the  rehabilitation of its drainage system. The barangay will also be purchasing handheld radios, megaphone and other materials to address any untoward emergencies that may hit the barangay. (ELB)
