Dagupan to receive Seal of Good Housekeeping from DILG

DAGUPAN CITY – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced that Dagupan City will receive P3 million after being adjudged as a recipient the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) Award.

MNLF, politicians urged to rally behind GPH-MILF peace pact

COTABATO CITY – Civil society leaders in Mindanao on Wednesday called on the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and political leaders to back the peace process between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

They issued the call as peace rallies were simultaneously held in the different parts of the island to drumbeat support to the ongoing GPH-MILF peace process after both sides signed the last Annex on Normalization to the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB). “Oplan Hilamos” launched soon to face-lift existing police stations

DAGUPAN CITY – A program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in coordination with the Philippine National Police will be launched soon to face-lift or rehabilitate existing police stations nationwide.

NFA warns businessmen, traders against selling ‘adulterated rice’

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The National Food Authority (NFA) has warned businessmen against the selling of “adulterated rice” by mixing-up the NFA rice with the commercial variety and selling it at higher prices.

DOLE, education sector in Pampanga form tripartite council

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office here and the various stakeholders in the education sector in Pampanga on Wednesday formed a tripartite council to effectively address issues and concerns in the education industry.

OPV eyes New Lucena as first ‘rabies-free’ municipality in Iloilo

ILOILO – The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) is targeting the town of New Lucena to be the first “rabies-free” municipality in the province.

OPV Livestock Inspector II Dr. Darel Tabuada said they have already started coordinating with the local government unit of New Lucena and its Municipal Agrarian Office (MAO) since November last year on how to reach the goal. Bukidnon LGU takes over sand, gravel quarry operations

MALAYBALAY CITY – The provincial government of Bukidnon stopped renewing permits of sand and gravel operators effective this month en route to its assumption of sand and gravel extractions as a form of economic enterprise.

Bicol cop chief orders intensified measures to halt crime rate hike

LEGAZPI CITY – Chief Supt. Victor P. Deona, Police Regional Office 5 director, has ordered the 117 chiefs of police across Bicol to step up their campaign against the rising number of crimes in the region.

Deona, who assumed the command of PRO5 only in October last year, told the PNA on Wednesday that he expressed his dissatisfaction over the poor performance of the police chiefs and warned that he would relieve any of them who fails and violates the Philippine National Police’s “three-strike policy” in the performance of their work. Cebu power firm completes P140-M renovation of substation

CEBU CITY – The Visayan Electric Company (Veco), Metro Cebu’s lone power distributor, has completed the P140-million renovation and upgrade of Don Gil Garcia (DGG) Switching Station and Substation near the Carbon Public Market in Cebu City.
