Body to hear concerned agencies on status of mining industry in Oro
THE status of the small and big-scale mining industry in Cagayan de Oro City will be discussed by the City Council committee on environment and natural resources chaired by Councilor Zaldy Ocon during its meeting on September 4 at 3 p.m. at the City Council Session Hall.
The committee has invited Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Director Sabdullah C. Abubacar, OIC Regional Director Engr. Rex S. Monsanto of the Mines and Geo-Sciences Bureau -10, PENR Officer Edgardo S. Callanta, CENR-OIC Forester Aldrich S. Resma and Edwin L. Dael of the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office to hear from them on the matter.
The committee is also slated to tackle tomorrow the application for special permit on zoning of a proponent for the establishment, maintenance and operation of a Petron Refilling Station at Upper Balulang. Representatives of the City Planning and Development Office and City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office as well as the proponent have been invited to attend the meeting.
