Business as Usual in Butcher’s Best Barbecue
Cagayan de Oro’s iconic place for ihaw-ihaw and sugba-sugba remains open despite irresponsible social media posts it has burned down.
“It’s true our chimney caught fire 2 weeks ago but we managed to put the fire out and damage to our restaurant was minimal and we have re-opened after some minor repairs and touching up,” said “Chairman” Kim Clark Yap of Butcher’s Best Barbecue.
In a sign posted at the door, the management clarifies it is now undertaking renovation to make it a much better place and indeed, the place which opened years ago is showing some signs of aging.
However, Kim Clark said that they are renovating and rebranding Butchers Best Barbeque, and would keep prices affordable for their patrons which have made Butcher’s Best Barbeque their favorite sugba-sugba hangout in Cagayan de Oro.
Renowned far and wide for its very affordable but delicious Original Pork and Chicken BBQ, Original Sisig (chopped and grilled/broiled pig’s cheeks), Sinug WOW (grilled pork belly served with soy sauce and onions) and of course, its famous Grilled Angus Beef Belly which is even respected by the AB crowd for its real value for money.
In a review dated March 21, 2015 posted at TripAdvisor, a visitor from Norfolk, Virginia raved about the place having “the best sisig I ever tasted in the entire Philippines, still nothing can compare. They also offer a lot of local Filipino foods, an array of barbecue flavors to choose from. Simply the best.”
