PRO-10 gears up for May 2022 polls

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)–The Police Regional Office (PRO)-10 ensures the safety and security of the upcoming May 2022 Local and National polls as it beefs up its preparations to not only mitigate lawlessness and criminal activity but ensure adherence of the general public to the minimum health safety protocols against the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 contagion.

“For Police Regional Office-10, we have already substantially built up the required number of personnel to be deployed to our 1,907 police centers dinhi sa (here in) Region 10. We are going beyond to what is actually required, we are also considering the numbers sa ato bontante (of our voters) and ang size sa area sa atong (and the size of our) polling centers in coordination with our AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines] and COMELEC [Commission on Elections],” said PRO-10 Spokesperson Michelle Olaivar during the CORDS-X podcast, April 30.

Olaivar said they have already recommended certain areas in the region as orange or red election hotspots for additional deployment of personnel under their election security classification to bolster security measures.

The PRO-10 also held coordination meetings with the Department of Health (DOH)-10 and local government units (LGUs) to ensure that each polling center has necessary requirements for minimum health safety protocols and proper enforcement will be emplaced complementary to the anti-criminality activities from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

“Para ma-deter ang movement sa atong lawless elements, pursigido gyud dili lang ang Philippine Regional Office-10, kundi naa ta’y tabang sa atong support units gaya ng CIDG to ensure gyud na hapsay ang pag-conduct and pag-exercise nato this coming May 9 elections,” Olaivar said. (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
