Couple seal marriage vow with zipline ride in Hundred Islands

ALAMINOS CITY – A couple chose to seal their marriage in a more exciting way — by riding on a zipline in the Hundred Islands.

Gerald and Cherish May Mentoya exchange marriage vows on Aug. 18 at the Governor’s Island view deck in the Hundred Islands National Park (HINP). They then kissed and rode a zipline.

The newly weds — the groom in white polo and pants and the bride in a white gown — were actually the first to ride the yet-to-be inaugurated 456-meter long zipline with 46-meter elevation from the water.

They were also the first to hold a wedding ceremony at the Governor’s Island.

City Mayor Arthur Celeste officiated the civil wedding rites. He was also principal sponsor, together with his wife, Chloue, who led some of the wedding guests in trying out the zipline ride.

The zipline connecting Governor’s Island and Virgin Island is the second zipline installed at the HINP.

The first one, 180 meters long, was inaugurated last June at the Quezon Island.

Celeste said the second zipline will be inaugurated once the construction works at the Governor’s Island are done. (PNA)
