MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Beja Emano Emano has offered P100,000 bounty for the arrest of the suspects who gunned down two Swiss men in a beach resort in Opol town on October 5.
In a press statement, Emano said he will reward whoever can give information that would lead to the capture of the suspected killers of two Swiss national––Robert Erik Loaber, 68, and Baltazar Johan Erni, 78, both retirees from Switzerland.
Two men, armed with pistols, shot Loaber and Erni on Sunday afternoon and fled using a taxicab as a getaway car.
Emano said the information about the killers can be submitted to the Office of the Governor or to police authority.
The governor offered the reward to hasten the solution of the case and appease the concerns of the international community on the overall peace and order condition of Mindanao.
Emano said: “While the crime may have disturbed the general peace and order condition of our province, let it be also known that we are generally law abiding people and want to see the early solution of the case.”
The local police claimed it has placed under its custody the prime witness who can possibly identify the suspects, reported the DXIF-Bombo Radyo on its website.
It said the local police also created the Special Investigation Task Force (SITG) headed by Misamis Oriental Provincial Sr. Supt. Leonilo Cabug. The local police also sought the help of the Armed Forces to speed up the arrest of the suspects.
Emano said he was saddened over the killings of the two Swiss national in Opol town more often visited by domestic and foreign tourists.
