LBC branch in Agusan Sur robbed anew
SAN Francisco, Agusan del Sur— Armed robbers barged into the cargo forwarding firm LBC branch here on Tuesday night and carted away cash from the small vault in front of terrified staff.
Supt. Rodelio Roqueta, acting police chief, said the suspects armed with 45 caliber pistol took the chance when policemen already left their usual post at a nearby sari-sari store to conduct roving around town and just as LBC already closed shop.
The suspects were clever enough to walk quietly along with van drivers who entered the building using the back door and as soon as they were already inside announced the hold up and demanded for the vault.
While the staff were left unspoken, one of the suspects banged the head of the driver with the gun while it luckily found the small cash vault hidden in the stack of papers at the divider near the main concrete vault.
The local LBC branch has been the target of robbers and has been victimized several times in the past.
Roqueta said they are conducting a thorough probe seriously considering the CCTV camera of the building to identify the suspects. “We were not a remiss since we have been telling the local LBC branch to hire security guards but we were told that it is a company policy nationwide not to get one.” A report from Chris V.
