by Joe Palabao/Feature Editor
Twelve years ago, young and talented Mark Christopher L. Yaranon started his budding career as a Fashion Designer at Jannico Boutique and from Year 2000 to 2010 worked as an in-house designer of Carolinas Lace Shoppe-House of Fabrique where he honed his innate and naif talent for designing Iconic Fashion, a fashion trend being used by the kings and queens of the Medieval Times.
He got his inspiration from the clean lines of the designs of Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan to the classic sophistication of Coco Chanel to the Haute Couture Silhouette of the late Alexander McQueen and Elie Saab, a Lebanese International Designer based in Europe to the modern and funky lines of Gaultier & Versace. Mark Christopher L. Yaranon collections iconic fashion designs are the likes being worn by known icons Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. He uses high end and expensive fabrics to the taste of the queens and kings and the elites of the society.
In an interview, Iconic Fashion Designer Mark Christopher L. Yaranon told Business Week Mindanao that his recent models were the Miss Kagay-an Beauties wherein all their gowns are all in a Serpentine Cut and he used colors of the Kings and Queens of the Medieval Times like the Magenta, Lilac, Lavender and Purple. All the twelve lovely candidates were wearing six (6) different necklines uses with similar lower serpentine cut and four (4) different colors wherein; per design/neckline, two (2) candidates wore the same gowns BUT with different colors. Each of the four (4) colors, has three (3) gowns with similar hues but different necklines, which makes every single candidate UNIQUE in her own right as a beauty queen. The male and women hosts of the Pageant also wore the unique creations of Mark Christopher L. Yaranon.
The SILHOUETTE of the gowns is very queenly and the statuesque transformed the candidates into living queenly mannequins with sophistication, elegance and their royal beauties exude to the fullest. The high end and expensive silky fabrics used by the candidates of Miss Kagay-an 2011 was sponsored by GAISANO CITY, Clothing and Fabric Dept.
