NGCP donates 2-classroom building to Surigao del Sur

WAKAT, Barobo, Surigao del Sur – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) turned over a two-classroom building to Wakat National High School in Wakat, Barobo, Surigao del Sur on September 18, 2014.
The inaugural ceremony for the new building was a celebration of sorts for the institution to show its appreciation for the grid operator’s donation.
Nelson F. Cabangon, NGCP Corporate Affairs Department head, modestly said, “It is an honor for NGCP to have the opportunity to serve the students and the people of Wakat, Barobo, Surigao del Sur by way of donating this school building.”
According to Cabangon, the school building was just NGCP’s gesture of returning the favor given by the people of Surigao del Sur to the NGCP.
It was learned that NGCP is scheduled to donate similar classroom buildings to other public schools in Barobo town and the province of Surigao del Sur in support of the municipal and provincial governments’ education program.
Barobo Vice-Mayor Joey Pama, who represented Mayor Felixberto Urbiztondo, thanked NGCP for supporting the municipal government’s school building program.
Barobo Schools Division Superintendent Teofila Cabatuan, Assistant School Division Superintendent Lorenzo Macasocol, Parents-Teachers Association President Alma Inting, Principal IV Aida Arbal, Wakat Barangay Captain James Roquite, parents, teachers and students were one in expressing their gratitude to NGCP for the donation.
Present during the affair were NGCP Mindanao Operation and Maintenance Department Head Emmanuel Abellanosa, Mindanao Operation and Maintenance Division Head Camilo Gamolo, and Surigao del Sur I Electric Cooperative, Inc. General Manager Joceler Moralda.
