PRC to open temporary office at Bacolod Gov’t Center early next year
BACOLOD CITY – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will open a temporary office at the Bacolod City Government Center in the first quarter of next year.
Mayor Monico Puentevella said he joined representatives of the PRC Region 6 in conducting an ocular inspection of the three MassKara Halls of the Government Center recently to finalize the architectural design and layout of the temporary office.
“The city will accommodate them for as long as they don’t have their own building,” Puentevella said.
The PRC temporary office is scheduled to be completed in March.
Puentevella expressed his gratitude to the PRC officials particularly to Chairman Teresita Manzala for trusting Bacolod to host a PRC office.
He added that despite being only temporary, the local PRC office will greatly serve the residents of Bacolod since they will no longer have to travel to the PRC regional office in Iloilo City to apply for their licenses or to have their licenses renewed.
It is one way for them to save money, time and other resources, Puentevella said.
The renovation as well as the offices furniture and fixtures will be shouldered by the PRC while the City Engineer’s Office will coordinate with the agency’s architect.
Since the PRC office will soon occupy the MassKara halls, the city government will have to look for another venue for its meetings and gatherings at the Government Center. Being considered are the Annex building or the grand lobby.(PNA)
