Secretary Roxas remains evasive on 2016 plan
DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas on Thursday remained evasive in disclosing whether he will run for president in 2016, and merely said that he would abide by what his assignment would be.
Asked to comment on the reported appeal of President Benigno Aquino III while in Chicago, USA for the people to support his bet, Roxas just laughed and said “I am not in Chicago, I am here in Dinalupihan.”
Pressed further on what he thought would be a good President, the secretary said that the people should know better.
“Probably, the people like better the one who would continue the right, orderly and transparent administration. This administration goes a long way. It is not in the tarpaulin, not in the speech but can be seen like faucet with water,” he said.
Roxas was in Payangan to inspect the water system of the upland village in this town that was funded under the Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
”The Aetas are now on equal footing with the lowlanders because they now have clean and potable water,” he said.
Roxas also distributed checks for funding of water systems, flood control programs and relocation centers worth from P1 million to P3.7 million for the municipalities of Dinalupihan, Abucay, Samal, Bagac and Pilar.
He also announced that all municipalities and cities in the country will have a patrol vehicle each that can be used in police and emergency matters.
Governor Albert Garcia thanked Roxas for helping the province. (PNA)
